For the past four years, I’ve built our Strategic Plan at Winter Summit with my Breakthrough Academy family, but this year was different. Finalizing our 2025 plan in the Dominican Republic was already special, but having our new business partner, Bryce, at the table for the first time made it even more meaningful. I felt so proud. After 40 hours of prep, we worked through our plan with our accountability group, our mentor Curt Janzen, a leader I’ve looked up to for years, and, to our surprise, keynote speaker Marcus Sheridan, one of the best marketing minds out there. He poured into us with his insight, patience and generosity, taking our plan to the next level. The takeaways were game-changing, and it’s a day I’ll cherish for a long time.

Before BTA and attending Winter Summit, we ran our business reactively. Jobs came in, we got them done. That worked about as well as a charity, but we wanted healthy profits, and they weren’t coming. Planning felt like a luxury until the Summit prep work forced us to dig deep, uncover weak spots and build a real strategy. Then, at Summit, we get the chance to pressure-test that plan with other businesses. We came home with a clear direction and a ton of energy, ready to take on the year with a 'we got this' mindset.
